Quinta de Chocapalha 2020 Castelao
Quinta de Chocapalha Castelão is a radiant purple in color with an alluring nose of fresh raspberries, ripe cherries and subtle nuances of cocoa. The silky tannins and supple body attribute great balance and elegance to the palate.
Castelão, one of Portugal's most famed and widely planted varieties, is known for its beautiful, fruit character. Quinta de Chocapalha's interpretation of this varietal is a stunning example. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak for 12 months, this Castelão retains its fresh fruit essence long after its 6 month of refinement in bottle.

Does Your Wine Store Specialize In Organic And Biodynamic Selections?
Does Your Wine Store Specialize In Organic And Biodynamic Selections?
Though we are not explicitly a “natural wine store” we do carry a number of organic wines, biodynamic wines and other wines that would be considered natural wines and are sold in natural wine stores around the world. “Natural wine” is an unregulated term. We prefer to look at how small family wineries grow their wines — as sustainably as they can for their wine region. This usually includes organic winemaking, biodynamic winemaking, lutte raisonée winemaking and other farming philosophies. We also sell wines in a variety of styles, not just the “vin de soif” styles you usually find in natural wine shops.

Are wine shops more expensive than the LCBO?
Are wine shops more expensive than the LCBO?
It is quite rare that Good Sort Wine Store and the LCBO sell the same products on retail shelves. So we can’t directly compare prices.
Think of it like the difference between buying meat at a big box grocery store versus buying it at a butcher shop. Typically, the LCBO is buying at much larger quantities that give them the cheapest price. However, we are not interested in working with big, massive corporate wineries. The wineries we sell tend to be small family wineries, working sustainably (organic farming, etc) and focused on quality. We believe that these wineries produce the finest quality wines, and are worth spending that little bit extra on a bottle.
